Mandalas–from the Sanskrit word meaning “circle”–are concentric diagrams that are often displayed in sacred art, and represent the wholeness and unity desired by people. There are many beliefs that practice some form of meditation as part of their rituals, including Hinduism and Buddhism. These religions are known to use mandalas to aid them in focusing their energies and attentions, among other things. If you also need a little something to help center or inspire yourself, Komáromy Publishing’s Energy4You app might be the thing to do it.

Somewhat like a daily devotional, each day the app is launched, a different mandala is displayed along with its own quote or piece of advice. Once you’ve ruminated accordingly, you can swipe left or right to view the mandala and quote of other days. Likewise, you can tap on the center of the screen to bring up arrows that do much of the same. In the middle of bar is where you can tap to bring up the Preferences screen. There, you can change the language (English and Magyar) or skip to any day in the calendar year (leap days included).

The creator states that numerology and Feng Shui are the basis of how the mandalas are chosen, along with quotes that harmonize well. Whether you’re inclined to accept that or not, there is a definite beauty and energy to each piece of art that shows up. The intricate and vibrant mandalas are a sight to behold, and the quotes often invoke some reflection. While visually appealing and easy to use, I don’t know if you’d be willing to pay $2.99 for an app that is essentially static (and what happens to all the quotes and mandalas after a year passes?), but if such things brings you peace, then Energy4You is something you should look into.
