ShowTime (native)

PBF ShowTime is a native iPhone app that records video, which is strangely enough not available on the iPhone by default.

The video recorded by ShowTime is recorded in a raw format. This means it can’t be played on your Mac or PC, plus it fills your iPhone’s memory very quickly. Polar Bear Farm, the creators of ShowTime are working on faster capture with 15 frames per second and encoding the video file a standard format, most likely MPEG.

The app is for sale at the price of $10, but there is a trial version which can save up to five seconds’ worth of footage without audio. PBF will be at MacWorld 08, so if you plan on attending you can get more information there.

The other video recording app being developed currently is by Drunknbass, but that one has not yet been released to the public yet.

To Install ShowTime:
Assuming you have already jailbroken your iPhone, just add a new repository source to Installer.app with the URL: http://www.polarbearfarm.com/repo/. You will then find ShowTime in the “Multimedia” category.

Use iPhone mods and hacks at your own risk! Installing 3rd Party iPhone apps requires you to jailbreak the iPhone before installing the native software and apps.
