Going out to bars or coffee shops to pick up ladies? “Where the ladies at” is an iPhone app based on the original website that you can use to find where you’ll find the most ladies. Is this a little dorky, yes maybe even creepy. Can it be fun or useful, maybe. Let’s see how the app works.

Once you open the app it uses your geo-location via the iPhone and shows you a compass that points to the direction of the nearest place with the most ladies. Slide up to see a list of all the local bars and pubs with ladies present. For example you might see “Academy of Art University – 180NM has 4 ladies checked in, and is 14 blocks away”. That is if you live in San Francisco.

where the ladies at was created originally as a joke project and has now been turned into an iPhone app. It queries the API for social check-in service foursquare to find local ladies (in San Francisco area only at the moment) and shows you information about those checkins. It does this by filtering out the non-female names. I’m not sure what the female name logic is they are using but it seems to work. It works pretty good, but only for SF people who use those checkin apps like foursquare. It might be good to have options for filtering out where “guys” are or “people in general” are as well. Overall, its a new idea worth exploring. The app is free so maybe try it out for yourself and see.
