Colors rule our world as we’re surrounded by light. Coloroll is a novel iPhone game that tests your color mixing smarts by giving you a target color and 3 base colors to work with. Mix those colors by tapping on them until you come up with the perfect mix that matches the target color. You can use each base color a few different times, depending on the difficulty of the level. The game starts out with blue, green and yellow, and you can add in each one 3 times. Your colors are neatly displayed as the walls of a simple cube. The target is on the top of the screen and your mix is the background on the screen. You get to try as many times as you want until you come up with the right result. If you don’t get it right the first time, just drag the top half hexagon on top of the color cube and the game resets with a random new color combination.
You will see some transparent text on the cube that says -1 if you tap and hold the mix (created color area). You can also drag from the mix to any color on the cube to remove a portion of it from the target. This allows you to go back if you make a mistake. Once you’ve matched 3 targets Coloroll moves you up to the next difficulty level. If you liked Artisan and enjoy colors, be sure to take a look at Coloroll. This is quite a simple game that can become addictive and help you improve your instinctive knowledge of additive and subtractive color mixing. All this assuming you are not color blind of course.
