Remember those fun childhood games of trying to compose Mary Had A Little Lamb on the old house phone? If so, you may want to try Pine Tech College’s app, Touch Tone Hero. And yes, they do have Mary Had A Little Lamb.
There’s a Practice mode and a Score Mode, the former has three Tutorials and the latter keeps track of your points. There are 25 songs to choose from, everything from Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to the Imperial March of Star Wars. Once you choose a song, hit the number or symbol that scrolls across the top of the screen; you can adjust the tempo on the slider below. If in Practice mode, hit Auto to find out what the song is supposed to sound like (choose Default Speed under Menu to hear the song in the correct tempo). In Score Mode, the more accurate you are with your fingers, the more points you’ll receive. Or if you’re feeling in a creative mood, select Free Play to compose your tune (or make random noise). You can use the arrow keys to up and down a menu, and the circular center key to select.
The design of an old-school cell phone is particularly noticeable (especially the two-tone color scheme), and quite apt, considering the sounds emitting as you play. Touch Tone Hero is a fun and simple game that users of Guitar Hero or Tap Tap Revolution would probably enjoy, so if you miss the dulcet tones of a touch tone phone, this app is for you.
