Beer Pong, Flip Cups, Kings, Edward 40-Hands, Power Hour, Beer Die, or any other drinking game….You’ve tried them all. Well, have you heard about Beertend by Colorme (Beijing) Info Tech Co., Ltd? It’s a casual game you can play if you’re sober, buzzed, drunk, or wasted. You’ll control a sexy beertender to refill customer beer mugs.
Even smashed, users could learn how to play. Control a hot woman beertender dressed in a skintight. black leotard and stilettos by tapping up/down buttons and a beer button on the screen. Position her at the table a customer appears and tap the beer button on the lower right hand corner of the screen. This will prompt her to deliver drinks to customers who appear in each of the 4 different bar tables. Make sure you deliver the drinks before the customer reaches the end of the bar. After delivering drinks, users might pass back empty glasses which you must catch by standing at that table end. Don’t forget to pass a full beer mug back at them. Users have 3 chances before the beertender gets fired. You’ll lose if you drop a mug, fail to pick up a mug, or deliver an extra mug.
Beertend will help you pass the time as you’re sitting, sipping your drink and contemplating whether to approach that hottie in the corner (or silently cursing your friends for dragging you out in the first place). It offers decent play when you’re drunk, but there are better games out there to play if you’re even half sober. The game offers a simple, easy-to-use interface with good graphics. The game is pretty intuitive and the controls are adequately responsive. There’s even a soundtrack and sound effects to accompany it. Too bad the sound effects become annoying and repetitive with the music loop, and the volume can’t be turned off without having to access the iPhone’s manual controls. Luckily, users have the option of turning on their own music. Integration with OneFeint also allows users to submit their scores to local and online leaderboards, compete with friends, and challenge strangers.
Users with a Y chromosome may see some double D appeal in this game, but for me, it’s hard to get over the repetitive mechanics and overall game experience. It’s just not that fun. The game moves slowly and users are likely to grow bored quickly. Even the integration with OpenFeint may not save this game. Hey developers, how about a customizable feature that allows those of us of the XX variety to play with a studly beertender? You might also consider changing the sound effect of the beer mug breaking. It sounds more like a smashed window than a dropped mug. Other additions to consider include adding sounds like disgruntled customers which sound when users fail to promptly guide the beertender to deliver the brew.
As is, Beertend doesn’t offer a good value at the price of $0.99. There are better games out there. But if you’re looking for some cheap entertainment when you’re drunk (or lonely) and enjoy listening to a cartoon women dressed like a house bunny, “tee-hee,” give Beertend a go.
