Everybody who’s ever been inside an American mall…has probably also been hopelessly lost in one of them as well. MaddieApps’ new iPhone app, Mall Navigator, tries to alleviate that stress from shopping by helping you locate stores within a mall; you may never have to track down a directory ever again. Just input your state and choose a mall from the list, and the app will be able to tell you whichever store you’re looking for is located by using anchors (such as larger department stores). You can search stores by name or category, and you can also look for ATMs, restrooms, and the closest parking.
This app is a great idea, but it only includes around 35 of the largest malls in the USA; if that doesn’t include the mall you’re looking for, this app is virtually useless. You also need to be connected to the internet in order to use it, so make sure the mall you’re going to has Wi-Fi if you’re not connected through 3G. It’d probably be even more helpful if Mall Navigator also incorporated maps and used the iPhone’s built-in GPS, but perhaps those will be included in later updates.
