Don’t feel like Hallmark-ing it this year? Try a different approach to cards with Anson Li’s new app, Voice Card. With this app, you can make a unique card and email it by selecting a theme (swipe left and right to view more cards), inserting a picture, and recording a message. You can insert a photo from your iPhone camera roll, or take one right then and there; adjustments can be made by using pinch-zoom and two fingers to rotate. The voice recordings cut off at 10 seconds, so talk fast! You can then send it out or save it to your library for later. Unfortunately, there’s no editing once you leave the photo and recording screens, respectively.
Voice Card is in the barest stages of its beginnings, and it shows: the themes only consist of events between Christmas and Valentine’s Day, and nothing further; hopefully there’ll be more updates in the future with a lot more themes to choose from. Perhaps an option for users to submit their own designs would be helpful. As it is, this iPhone app is cute and creative, and allows you to be as well. It is very simple to navigate, not confusing in the least. The developers promise more themes, in addition to Twitter and Facebook uploads, so Voice Card is worth keeping an eye on.
