Navizon GPS app has been added to Installer.app which does Triangulated Location Detection. The app is free. Install, Create a Username and Login. It finds your location by measuring the delay between nearby cell towers and using their known locations to pinpoint where your are on the map application. It sometimes crashes but works other times to be mindful of that. Works for the most part and Navizon claims that it also works over WiFi.
Use iPhone mods and hacks at your own risk! Installing 3rd Party iPhone apps requires you to jailbreak the iPhone before installing the native software and apps. You can use Installer.app for Mac OSX and iBrickr for Windows PC to do this. Browse the full list of all iPhone and iPod touch native 3rd party apps filed under the software category.

Over WIFI this works. Somewhat accurately. On EDGE network it’s a no go – “No known cells”. Is this just using IP Geolocation? I thought only 911 services currently have access to cell tower triangulation.
