MediaPlayer WebUI review

MediaPlayer WebUI is a web based Remote control for Media Player Classic for your iPhone or iPod Touch. It is an ajax based web application that you download and run on your own PC. Then you access it via a local address on your iPhone to control Media Player Classic on your Windows computer. You can control basic playback functions in MPC, as well as browse your computer for movies. The app is designed specifically for iPhone and iPod Touch.

How To Use:

1. Download Media Player Classic 6.4.9
2. Download MediaPlayerClassic iPhone UI and unzip it somewhere on your PC.
3. In the Options menu for Media Player Classic find the “Web Interface” and enable “Listen on port” disable “Allow access from localhost only”, and enable “Serve pages from”. You can change the port it listens on but that’s optional (default is 13579). Click the “Browse” button and find the “webroot” directory that you extracted from my zip file. Save your changes.
4. Open Safari on your iPhone or iPod Touch and go to http://yourpc:13579/ replacing yourpc with the name or IP address of the computer that’s running MPC. (for example http://192.168.0.10:13579)

Media Player Classic (MPC) is a compact free software media player for Microsoft Windows. The application mimics the look and feel of the old, light-weight Windows Media Player 6.4 but uses a completely different codebase, integrating most options and features found in modern media players.
