Guitarist (native)

Moo Cow Music, who recently put out Pianist and Drummer for the iPhone have now released Guitarist, a native iPhone guitar app. Guitarist is supposed to be easier to use than Pocket Guitar because it uses a unique “hammer-on” format which simplifies solo playing by removing the need to independently fret and pick a string. Guitarist also contains sounds for a full 15 fret guitar board and you can also play open strings on the the 15th fret. You can touch up to 5 strings and play those notes simultaneously. All notes are separately recorded samples, for maximum quality. Another cool feature is the animated strings when you touch them, giving you a visual feedback. Various guitar tunings available including Standard, Dropped D, Open A Major, Open E Major, Open D Major and Open G Major and more are expected to come including electrical guitar sounds.

Supports left or right handed players.

Here is a video demo of Guitarist for the iPhone playing Stairway to Heaven:

Guitarist is available under the Toys category after adding the ModMyiFone source to Installer.app

Use iPhone mods and hacks at your own risk! Installing 3rd Party iPhone apps requires you to jailbreak the iPhone before installing the native software and apps. You can use Installer.app for Mac OSX and iBrickr for Windows PC to do this. Browse the full list of all iPhone and iPod touch native 3rd party apps filed under the software category.
