If you cross Indiana Jones with Spongebob Squarepants, you might get Rhema Press’ iPhone app, Andy Adventure. Andy travels to seven different locations to try to complete his adventures, in which you must help him by removing the least amount of objects (his friends) between him and the ground. Once Andy is safely on land, the level is completed and the next one is unlocked if you have enough points (levels get progressively harder).
This game app is sort of like a reverse Topple, because instead of trying to build up as many blocks as possible, you’re trying to knock down the least amount possible. Tap the screen on the block that you want to remove; points are given according to the number of blocks (or friends) you save. Also, keep an eye out for falling objects, such as: enemies (there are six of them in all), artifacts, and weapons (three types, which you can use to defeat the enemies). Needless to say, avoid hitting the enemies and go for the rest of them.
The graphics of Andy’s Adventure are completely adorable and extremely colorful–it’s like Nickelodeon on your iPhone screen. Andy even changes hats with levels. Unfortunately, there is no introductory or, most importantly, instructional or tutorial screen. You’re just sitting there, staring at a game that just started with no idea what the rules, goals, or options are. That is a complete turnoff, as it wastes time and game lives trying to figure out what to do. So, if you don’t mind spending a little time fooling around with the game app first, Andy Adventure is a challenge you should try out. A lite version for free might interest more people in this full version.
