Are you part of the 85% of Americans who are food obsessed? Well so am I. We should embrace our gluttony and what better way to do that than playing a game where your sole responsibility is to stack as much food on a burger as you can. How do you loose? By closing the burger with a top bun. The game is Burger Tower, it was developed by Pencil Logic, and it costs $0.99. You can enjoy it on any one of your app friendly Apple products.
Cookie is the name of the morbidly obese sheep, who you are helping to stack the burger. He is a chef who loves food a little too much. He greets you with his tongue hanging out of his mouth and his little hooves flying about wildly in anticipation. His nickname for you is Boyoi and you are provided with a copy of Burger Tower for Sheepies—a play on the for Dummies books—when you first start. Cookie lets you know that there is a contest and the prize is a million sheepenny, which he can use to renovate his bakery. To make this happen you tilt your device left or right to move Cookie who will be holding the bottom bun. The food falls from the sky at different rates. Included in the food items are, a rotisserie pig with an apple stuffed into its mouth, cheese, a stack of bacon, lettuce, an egg, a whole turkey, strawberries, onions, chili peppers, and a stack of hamburger patties. You have a chance to double your score by stacking two of these in a row. There are two food items that fall from the sky that, if caught, cause your score to decrease, ice cream and chocolate. Once the bar at the bottom of the screen has filled you can swipe your finger across the screen and you are suddenly in Fever Mode where the food is worth twice as much and there is no detriment in stacking the ice cream or chocolate. Fever Mode ends when your bar has been filled or a top bun has landed on the stack. Sheepie Sheepu is the head chef judging your creation. He determines whether or not it is spectacular enough for a prize.
Burger Tower gets mundane after awhile but I did have my fair share of fun with it. It is worth buying it even if just to get a look at Cookie and his expressions.
