iFinance review

iFinance is an app for the iPhone from OpenStack Inc. that has tools for analyzing your financial investments and help you answer questions you might have about them. The app is good if you are into investing, accounting or have real estate you would like to analyze.

iFinance can also be good for giving you a heads up on future financial investments or liabilities, such as for students or new credit card holders and borrowers. Get insight into your 401K, IRA and other retirement instruments. Use the app to find out how long it will take to pay off your existing loans, credit cards and other interest bearing accounts. Find out the return on your real estate account, and get mortgage amortization tables.

Everything from a simple financial calculations to Net Present Value of money, Modified Internal Rate of Return, Mortgage Refinancing Calculator, Retirement Calculator, Margin Calculations, Bond Price/Yield/Sensitivity, Annuities, Continuous Compounding, Sinking Funds, and Capital Recovery. There are even statistics and probability calculators in here.

Unfortunately, the iFinance app has poor user interface and needs to be improved in terms of graphics and design. For the four dollar price tag you would probably expect to get a better layout than what iFinance currently provides. Its functionality is powerful although users have reported few errors and bugs. The app has not been updated in a long time.
