Being inside an American mall is like being in a labyrinth–it’s no wonder that there are directories posted all over the place. But directories aren’t always in front of you, and searching for them can be a scavenger hunt as well…here comes Point Inside’s Mall & Shopping Center Maps iPhone app to the rescue. It’s an Indoor Smart Map for malls and a concierge, all in one. Just launch the app and let the GPS find your location, then search for a venue (second tab): you can search through all the venues they’ve mapped, or just the ones near you (recommended). Tapping on the mall you want not only brings up the map of its stores and dining (pinch zoom to adjust the view), but also gives you access to information such as events or promotions, or even where to find the bathroom or an ATM. Point Inside also has store information, such as hours and phone numbers. It even gives you an option to input your parking space level or number, just in case you forget it after hours of walking through a mall.

Point Inside has hundreds of American malls mapped, and no network connection is needed for downloaded maps. Such information is a goldmine in your hands: no need to go looking for a needle in a haystack anymore, just worry about shopping and getting the best deals. Tap carefully, though, because mall stores are built cramped and close to one another, and that means your margin of error while selecting a store’s information or another store on the map is small. And, this iPhone app is at the best price possible: free.

This App is Awesome! me and a couple of girlfriends went down for a wedding in Boca Raton a caouple of weeks back and i must say when we went shopping for the gifts at sawgrass, we felt like we knew the place already! it gave us turn by turn navigation to the stores we wanted to find first, closest escalators,elevators, in a nut shell it has been the most useful app i have ever used, simply amazing!

2. @ Evelyn…i don’t know if you have your head on your shoulders, or if you are confusing pointinside for the FastMall App, cause i got both and i must say point inside is horrrrrible, needs so much improvement i don’t know why they even put it out in the first place, FastMall has everything u need, best app i’ve had since i purchased an iphone, and its been for a while that i’ve had it, FASTMALL all the wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! get your facts straight Evelyn!

4. Check out the leader in the space – a company called Micello! (www.micello.com). Unlike others, they make really interactive, engaging maps. They also have indoor search, so you can search for shoes and find all the stores that have shoes! The map response is the fastest I’ve ever seen.

6. Finally got to check out this App. It’s not just malls anymore. They have airports, even international airports. Can’t wait to use it on my trip to London!
