Skyscanner All flights, everywhere!

Traveling is stressful, even before all the added security regulations for flying. One of the toughest things can be the first step: finding flights. Not only do you have to find something that fits into your schedule, but sometime cost effective as well–it can seem like a long, painful scavenger hunt for the unseasoned traveler. Thank goodness for places like Skyscanner, a site that compiles flight options from over 600 airlines. To make things easier, they’ve also developed an iPhone app that allows you to access all the flight information you need.

Skyscanner All flights, everywhere!

The Skyscanner iPhone app has one main screen, and it’s pretty much all you need to get you started. Just input the locations and dates of your departure and arrival, the number of passengers (tap to specify type of passenger), and hit search. That’s it! Then sit back and watch the search bar as Skyscanner searches through airlines and travel agents for you. Helpfully, the listings are by lowest to highest price. If this doesn’t suit you, you can also filter the results further. Everything you need to know is displayed, from exact flight times to number of connections. If you find one that works for you, just tap on it to share by email or to book. Booking can be done by phone or by using the app’s built-in browser.

Skyscanner All flights, everywhere!

Skyscanner doesn’t offer additional travel options, such as hotel booking, but it’s a pretty awesome as purely a flight search engine. With both low-cost carriers and scheduled airlines, there are over 700,000 worldwide routes that you can potentially choose from. I don’t know about you, but that number inspires a lot of confidence. Skyscanner’s app is extremely easy to use and understand, and search results appear quickly. There was some lag while scrolling down the flight listings, but who is really going to choose more expensive flights, anyway? I hate going to a million different websites just to find the best deals (I’d rather allot that time to doing something more productive), so I love this app’s ability to consolidate all my search options in one place. As a one-stop shop for flights, Skyscanner works. And for free!
