“Where should we eat?”
“I don’t know. Where do you want to go?”
“I don’t care. What do you feel like eating?
I don’t know about you, but I always seem to find myself in this situation where no one wants to decide where to go or what to do. Created by Hirofumi Hayashida, Truelette aims to remedy this problem by making the big life decisions for you. While the name is an amalgam of the words “true” and “roulette” and the background music is pretty Vegas-themed, Truelette isn’t your traditional drop-the-ball-onto-the-spinning-wheel-and-see-where-it-lands kind of roulette. Instead, after spinning the wheel, the decision is made by shooting an arrow out of a crossbow at the wheel.
The app allows you to add choices by holding the area of the roulette wheel you want to add and from there a menu pops up where you can choose a picture from your photo library or input text and select its color. After you’ve put in all of them, you can adjust the size of each slice to your liking or have the app just even out each wedge evenly.
This is a pretty novel concept as far as random decision making apps go and from what’s for lunch to spin-the-bottle, there are a ton of possible things you could use it for. Truelette is in the App Store for $1.99, but as of this posting, it is having an introductory sale for $0.99. Check it out if daily decision-making has got you swamped and you’re looking for an amusing way to lighten your load.
