Pastebot review

Pastebot from Tapbots is an iPhone app that lets you seamlessly paste copied text and image files from your iPhone to your Mac and vice versa. The PasteBot app uses a client application on your Mac to communicate back and forth and makes it possible to copy files and blocks of text to your Mac using a simple tap and hold action.

The ease and flawless execution with which the Pastebot iPhone app works, is undoubetdly its most shining feature. To get going, you’ll need an iPhone or iPod touch, and a Mac. Buy and install the Pastebot iPhone app then download and install the free PasteBot Sync companion application on your Mac. Enter the password from the app to get them connected.

From Mac to iPhone:
Just copy any piece of text, or image file (using command-C). Then either open the Pastebot iPhone app and watch as your data magically appears as a new entry within the Pastebot app. If the app is open everything still works the same way as well.

From iPhone to Mac:
Tap and hold any item from the Pastebot app list of items and PasteBot Sync will grab the data and populate your Mac’s clipboard with the information. If you’re in a text editor for example TextEdit, the app even automatically paste the text and image files directly into the document. In the case of images, Pastebot Sync will also create a PNG file and place it on your desktop. You can use anything you’ve copied to your iPhone clipboard from any app like Mail, Safari and Photos.

Besides copying, the app also has a plethora of sub-features as well to make it even a sweater deal. You can create folders in Pastebot to organize your clipboard data better. Choose an icon for the folder and give it a name. Then you can easily move stuff around and categorize them into your folders.

Files can also be sent as email attachments and images can be saved to your Photos app library. There is a mini-image editor built in that lets you quickly crop and rotate photos. Settings button lets you change the photo brightness, convert to black and white, invert, saturation and sepia. For text items you can also do a bunch of conversions and changes like Convert to lowercase/uppercase, Decode/Encode HTML, find and replace, quote lines, smarten quotes, straighten quotes, search in Google, and wrap in HTML tags. You can sync Pastebot with multiple Macs and store up to 99 items in your clipboard section.

The PasteBot app has a beautiful user interface and sharp snappy sound effects to complete this amazing little app. Pastebot is steroids for your clipboard and a great way to quickly move data between your iPhone and Mac. There is nothing like it in the App Store and it will make your life so much easier and even put a smile on your face the when you use it. PasteBot is a must have app as part of your list of productivity iPhone apps for Mac owners.
