SafeWallet

“Oh, what was that password? I think it might have contained a 9. Or a X? ARGHHH!” If that sounds like something you say often, then you should look into SBSH Mobile Software’s SafeWallet. It offers an organized, secure place to store your private information. You can use it to store important information about your credit cards, passwords, bank accounts, and anything else you want secure.

SafeWallet

You will only need to remember one password for your wallet, the place where your passwords and account information will be stored. The wallet will be organized into different “folders”. Inside the folders you can store different account passwords on “cards” like bank accounts, business, credit cards, family, internet, personal, software, and traveling. You’ll also have the option of creating multiple wallets if you don’t want all your information accessible with one password. Create a password for each respective wallet, and you’re set to go. The program can also be synced up with the PC Companion (sorry Mac users) if you have access to wifi. This allows you to manage your wallets, search for cards, generate passwords, and import wallets from other wallet apps on your computer. The PC Companion does not come free so you’ll have to drop $5.95 to purchase the feature on the SBSH Mobile Software website.

Using SafeWallet is very easy. I liked that there was copy-to-clipboard support so I could copy any passwords or account information and use it to log into different accounts. Switching back and forth between different applications and pasting the information on the clipboard was also easy. The Open Last Wallet was also good so that the main wallet I use was usually opened upon selecting and starting the app. This is especially good for those who have one main wallet. Those who have multiple wallets will also have the choice of disabling this feature. What’s also great about this app is that it doesn’t rely on a server so all the data is local and you can access it even if you don’t have wifi. The app also offers language support for English, Spanish, Dutch, French, and German languages.

SafeWallet is a great app, but some changes could be made to improve it. First of all, I’d like to be able to name, rename, add, and delete cards. The default cards aren’t especially useful and since I don’t need all of them, they just take up my valuable screen space. Having to scroll through to the cards I want wastes valuable time. Secondly, the developer should add a Mac Companion. Having only the PC Companion available is nonsensical. After all, if the app is available for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, why is the Companion not available for an Apple Mac? Also, adding a Mac Companion would tap into a growing market.

Overall, SafeWallet is a decent buy for those who have too many passwords to remember. If I had an opportunity to re-purchase though, I would pass because I just don’t have enough accounts. The app is still worth considering especially at the low price of $0.99. If you’re on the fence, try out the free lite version before you buy.
