It’s a tough economic climate out there right now, and a lot of people are struggling to find jobs, part-time or full-time. When you’re submitting application after application, it can be tough to keep track of them in your head, especially if you are invited to interviews and need to follow up. With Slava Barouline My Jobs app, now you won’t have to: everything you need to know will be in the palm of your hand.
Upon launch, you will be shown a dashboard where most of your applications can be tracked. Active Jobs tells you how many applications are still pending and Closing Jobs indicates how many positions are closing for applications within three days. Jobs to Follow-Up shows how many active positions that haven’t been followed up on for the last week or two weeks (the time span which you can set by tapping the gear button at the top right), while Jobs With Interviews lists how many active jobs have interviews scheduled. With just these four items, you can quickly determine what needs to be done and when.
Add a new job by tapping on Active Jobs, and then the + button at the top right. You’ll be given many detail fields to fill in, and any Employers, Agencies, and Agents you add through this fashion will also automatically be added when you look through those respective tabs on the bottom of the screen. If a job status has closed, just tap Close, and the Job will be moved into the Not Active listing. You’re also given the option to call or email the agent attached to the position, both of which are doable only if you buy the Pro version for $1.99. Another function only available in the Pro version is the ability to display an interview location using Maps.
Never again will you have to worry about missing a deadline or losing your employer’s contact information. As long as you enter all the fields in correctly, My Jobs practically does all the footwork for you–you just have to nail everything else. The dashboard you see upon launch really holds all the information you need to see, right away. One problem I saw with this app is that it crashes fairly often, especially when using it in landscape format, which I prefer. I’d also love to have some way of exporting all the information on this app into my computer for further usage. Otherwise, in terms of practicality and use, My Jobs is a great job hunting tool you can have for free (the best price in any economy).
