Say Cheese! Camera Mic is a new iPhone app that lets you take photos based on voice commands, or more loosely put, basically any type of noise.
Opening the Camera Mic app is pretty fast, just about the same time it takes to open the native Camera app, which is great. The app has a setting you can customize, which is the noise level that triggers a photo to be taken. Move the slider from left to right to choose how sensitive you want the app to be to noise. You can set it to a very low threshold and it will take photos or raise it up high to make it work only with loud commands. The app works with either the basic microphone, or if you prefer you can attach a microphone. The standard iPod touch mic also works with this app. You just need to play around with the setting for your environment to get the right noise level setting to avoid have too many, or no photos taken.
A novel idea, and great for setting up a voice activated camera. Combine Camera Mic app with some sort of an iPhone tripod for best results.
There is a button to disable the Mic response, as well as another button for toggling flash through its on/off/auto settings. There’s a quick link to your saved pictures. The app works in both portrait and landscape mode. There is no support for video recording as of right now with Camera Mic.
Overall, Camera Mic is well worth the $0.99 price tag.
