Softalk has releases an application for the iPhone and iPod Touch designed to improve the fluency of its users’ speeches or presentations. The product, simply named “Autocue”, provides teleprompter-type functionality, so that users don’t need to worry about their words and can instead focus on the delivery of their speech.
Softalk CEO Simon Bates said: “We’re pleased to be able to offer a truly unique product in what is a very competitive market. The AutoCue app benefits anyone involved in any form of public speaking. Whether it’s a best man’s speech or a company presentation, the iPhone can now help our users deliver a more polished delivery.”
Speeches may either be written using the AutoCue app or imported over the wifi network. AutoCue will then slowly scroll the speech on the screen under the full control of the user. Users may control the font sizes, line spacing, colors and playback speed. AutoCue also includes a “mirror image” option for usage with a teleprompting mounting in conjunction with a video camera.
