Rabbit of the Doom

If you’ve ever wanted to be a punk rocker bunny whose anger management issues causes mass destruction against tourists, now’s your chance. Gamelion Studios has released Rabbit of the Doom, an odd little iPhone game app where you are that bunny, seeking to rid beaches and snow-covered mountains of noisy, filthy tourists.

You can control the bunny with either Classic or Gesture (found in Options). Classic means control by tapping on the screen, while Gesture means control by sliding your finger. After choosing the location, there is a quick tutorial on what to hit, the amount of points each obstacle is, and what to avoid (this tutorial can be turned off). Basically, avoid anything non-human and not native (lifeguards for the beach and shepherds/yetis for the slopes). The longer you stay on a level, the more points you get. Extra points are awarded when you hit characters marked with a green bonus arrow; extra bunnies and points when the Time Bonus meter down at the bottom runs out. Hold out in the game long enough, and you turn into an indestructible Tornado.

Aside from the obvious, why is there a person sunbathing on the slopes, there is not any other story behind this game. The controls are difficult to navigate through, especially with Gesture; it only gets harder when the level rises and the bunny goes faster and when the bunnies multiply, as well. Rabbit of the Doom might benefit more by being a landscape game, as it is hard to see other objects when your fingers are in the way. The background music is nothing to write home about, unless you like a few measures of rock on loop. The graphics, however, are pretty darn cute. This iPhone app requires attentiveness, as you don’t want to run over certain human-shaped figures when that’s all you’ve been doing. It’s fun for a few levels, but you might get tired of it this iPhone app pretty fast.

The Rabbit of the Doom app is free for a limited time.
