What happens when you mix evil weather, magic mushrooms, an experiment gone wrong, sheep, and wicked graphics? Well if you couldn’t guess, you are forgiven as Peter und Vlad is no ordinary line drawing iPhone game. Vlad has created a weather machine that has gone evil and comes in at random times and turns helpless grazing sheep into energy. Peter is a sheepherder who must gather all the sheep on the field and herd them back towards the barn before the evil weather machine enters the scene, as it will abduct and destroy them for its own energy creation needs.
Playing Peter and Vlad on the iPhone is quite simple really and can become addictive. Just draw lines around the sheep and gather them together, as you direct them towards the barn. When they get close enough to the house they will enter and earn you points. There are a few strategies involved in the game. First, you should try and gather as many sheep as you can in each herd to increase their responsiveness to your drawn lines. If you try to herd one or two sheep by themselves you will soon see how difficult it can be. Larger groups of saved sheep will earn you higher bonus points. Second you can eat mushrooms to give you more speed and power in doing your work. Be careful though because if you eat too many mushrooms you will start hallucinating and lose control for a few seconds, which is quite funny. Finally, you have a panic button that you can press once per game that will further urge the sheep to return back to safety in times of danger. Watch the weather meter on the left side of the screen as it serves as an alarm for the dangerous weather machine approaching. You will also hear the background music change this happens as your cue to get those sheep home in a jiffy or watch them disappear.
If you’re looking for a more fun experience, you can also play the Peter und Vlad iPhone game in a “Zen” mode where you don’t have to worry about the weather machine. Here is a good place to practice your line drawing skills. The game features brilliant dynamic weather effects that morph from season to season and change from sunny to cloudy with super fluid real time graphics. Scores are stored online for the bragger in you. Peter und Vlad from Dexoris gets a pair of thumbs up for its imaginative design and creative interpretation of the line drawing iPhone genre and clearly sticks out of a herd of other games.
