Want some ants in your pants? The folks at Art Core Gaming have created a fun twisted iPhone strategy game called AntConflict which is sort of like chess, with your goal being to kill the Mother Queen ant.
There are 5 different types of characters in the game: The Mother Queen, The Nurse, a 6 Soldiers Squadron, two Pit Workers and two Hunters. As with chess, in AntConflict each piece has its own set of possible moves and capable attacks. Use your soldiers, pit workers and hunters for attacking, and use your nurse to protect your troops. Similar to Checkers, when one of your soldiers reaches the the opposing sides’ home row, that soldier becomes what is known as a Super Soldier, which gives it some extremely powerful moves. Learning all the possible moves and attacks can take some time, and learning when and how to use them will only come with experience, so be prepared to lose a lot at first.
To get you warmed up, check out the briefing and also take a good look at the help area called “Show Troop Skills” which clearly illustrates possible moves. The 3D cartoon style graphics are very colorful, original and the ant pieces are detailed with cute artwork, matching sound effects, and comical comments throughout the game. You can play as either the red ants or the black ants, in either solo or versus mode. There are 3 difficulty levels to choose from. You can also view your stats such as the number of victories, damages, casualties, and more.
If you’re a fan of classic puzzle games like Chess and Checkers, like a good challenge and are looking to learn a new game, take a look at AntConflict.
