Ever want to channel a giant robot and walk around the city stomping on buildings and blowing things up with your laser eye? Thanks to Origin8, you can now vicariously live out your robo-destroying desires with Robot Rampage. The game is linear and the goal is to destroy as many blocks as you can. Obstacles lining your way consist of various military battalions, from ground troops to tanks to flight bombers. Every 10 blocks, you will get a health pack beamed down and filling up your atomic meter will allow you to charge and deploy an energy blast that will destroy everything on your screen.
The art is very sharp and clear and its overall look seems to vaguely resemble the retro-future style as used in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Music and sound effects are also very nice which is good because gameplay can get a little repetitive but having nice things to look at definitely makes it better.
Robot Rampage is OpenFeint enabled and is currently going for $1.99 in the App Store.
