World of Goo HD recently received an update that optimized its already beautiful graphics with support for high definition retina displays. WOG HD revolves around the player being able to drag and drop balls of goo to build various platforms. The player then uses the items to help them complete the puzzle they are currently on.

World of Goo HD would not be a very fun app if the controls did not work appropriately. Faulty controls in any game leads to frustration but luckily this is not experienced in World of Goo HD. When you have an app that requires precision control to complete a puzzle, it is nice to be able to achieve your goal without having to worry about bad controls. WOG HD is easily one of the most creative and imaginative applications available for the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and the great controls only add to the wonderful experience that the player receives.

Everything in World of Goo HD is done masterfully, but if there is one aspect of the app that does not add any value it is the audio. The audio found in WOG is very serviceable and done quite well, but it does not add anything to the player’s experience. Most people are not going to play an iPhone app and expect to hear something wonderful. Thankfully World of Goo HD is such a good app that no audio is required to have fun and enjoy the experience. Players may even have a better experience with the app if they turn off the audio and listen to their favorite music while they play. For me that was the case, although you might enjoy the audio as well.

The graphics in World of Goo HD are easily one of the best features of the application . World of Goo had stunning visuals prior to the upgrade to high definition graphics, but the addition of the HD graphics only enhances an already great experience. World of Goo HD is easily one of the best designed and most polished iPhone apps available on the market. Every time you play, you will be stunned by how beautiful World of Goo HD really is.

At a price of only $4.99, WOG is a pretty good value in the iPhone or iPad market. World of Goo HD is a huge app with tons a replay value that will allow you to keep playing for days. It is a steal when you can get something this massive for under a dollar, especially when you add in the great gameplay and graphics.
