GeoVector Corporation has released another great augmented reality app for your iPhone called World Surfer. Using the World Surfer app lets you use your iPhone as a compass on steroids while you are out in public. Just open up the World Surfer app and point your iPhone while you are walking to find information about the places you see around you.
For example, you can point your phone down a street to see if there is anything good to eat in that direction, or point your phone at a building to learn its history, see Flickr pictures or YouTube movies. Bookmark your car or any favorite place and be guided right back to it. Look for special offers only when you want them.
Directionally filtered searches filter the results to what’s right in front of you. Great for discovering you current surrounding and also for when you are traveling and at a new city. The app has slick graphics and is a great reference utility app for discovering new businesses and staying informed no matter where you are. World Surfer was designed for the iPhone 3GS, but it still works with reduced functionality on any OS3.0 iPhone or iPod touch.
