We finally have a key to figuring out everything we can possibly do with our complex iPhones. As intuitive and user-friendly as Apple products are, this does little in the way of helping out the technologically challenged or discovering shortcuts. iCademy, developed by daemgen.net, is the manual provided for you to use as a guide through your iPhone journey. You can use this app on an iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad and it is absolutely free.
iCademy allows you to get intimately acquainted with your phone. Between the eleven categories there are to choose from and each of the categories’ in-depth subsections any and every question you may have regarding your iPhone is answered. The categories include, General Usage, Keyboard, Phone, Safari & Mail, Camera & Photos, ProCamera, iPod Music & Video, Troubleshooting, Special Tips, iOS 4, and iPhone 4 Extras. Each of those sections is detailed with descriptive cards, which include images so there is no question in your mind about where you are supposed to be while figuring out the function.
There are over 300 of these index cards in the app so I do not hesitate to call iCademy thorough. Once you have chosen the category and subsection which contains the answer to your question and you are scrolling through the pages, you have the option of pressing a button with an image of an envelope or of a home. If you want to email a certain piece of information you found to a friend you choose the envelope and if you want to be directed back to the home screen you click on the house. This app gives you tips, directions, pictures, and the option of sending a section with a click instead of tediously copying and pasting the desired information. There are a few grammatical errors sprinkled throughout, but this probably only occurred due to the sense of urgency given in the production to get this app out to us.
iCademy is informational, easy to use, well designed and conceived. As a free app I do not see why you wouldn’t be jumping at the chance to download it unless you are a technological genius.
