2. this dictionary seems to work ok, but is there another application that allows for drawing the characters on the itouch or iphone?

3. The standard Notes app in the iphone 3G comes with Chinese character recognition. It works great. The only (minor) glitch is that you still can´t sync the notes with your Mac, you have to email them.

4. how do you get the Chinese characters on your notes for the iPod?

5. It’s easy, you can add new keyboards by going to: Settings / General / Keyboard / International Keyboards / Choose either Chinese (Simplified) or Chinese (Traditional)

6. The Chinese English dictionary from ZHdict should let you draw characters with your finger.

7. LRDict ????? (Chinese-English, Chinese-German dictionary), supports handwriting input for chinese characters. Please have a look.
