Mission Mars review

Capesurfline has created an iPhone game app called Mission Mars, in which you will be part of an alien invasion (ostensibly, you are a Martian invading another alien planet). Your task is to fly a UFO over the enemy’s city and destroy it in order to find a secure place to land.

Your UFO will fly in from the left side of the screen and disappear at the right, only to reappear lower and lower with each repetition. To drop a bomb, tap anywhere on the screen; unfortunately, another bomb cannot be deployed until the last bomb you dropped has exploded. The enemy city is made up of buildings and towers of varying heights. Even trickier, there are spaces between the buildings that the laser-thin bombs can fall into, wasting a bomb and your time. Higher levels have higher towers, and the quicker you level the city, the more points you’ll receive.

This iPhone game app is another that is simple in concept…it is not hard at all to understand. However, the timing is a bit hard to get used to, as buildings are not the same height and therefore require different amounts of time for a bomb to land on. The spaces in between also make this game app a little frustrating. The graphics are simple as well, and there is no background music at all (bomb explosions are the only sound emitting from this game). So if you don’t mind having to spend a bit more time and trying a little harder for what really should be an easy game, go ahead and give Mission Mars a try. This game was converted from the flash version for the iPhone. It can be improved with better sound effects and more precise shooting features, and something more like level up weapons or various themes.
