Atari made Pong a hit back when Black and White video games where the bomb. Now with the iPhone and iPod touch craze you can bring back the retro 70’s classic game of Pong to your iPhone with Pong iPhone edition. Go back 37 years to 1972 and feel the joy of simplicity once again. The Pong (tennis without the frills) app has a slick but old school design and comes with the basic white on black board. Serve the ball with tap and move your racket by sliding you finger left and right. With the new 3.0 software you can now play using wireless over Bluetooth with a friend who also has an iPhone or iPod touch with the same 3.0 update. The game itself can become quite addictive as you might already know. In a store full of state of the art 3D iPhone apps, Pong sticks out nicely.

The advertising says it supports multiplayer capabilities but this is a lie. The only reason I bought the app was to try the multiplyer support. But it didn’t have it. I feel robbed. Even thought it’s just $1.
Posted on July 2nd, 2009 at 10:28 pm by DanielDaniel, Pong – iPhone Edition most definatly has Bluetooth multiplayer. I worked with ArcTouch very hard to get this implemented in it. In version 1.1.1 (in review) Pong even has a help popup telling you how to enable it.

Posted on August 18th, 2009 at 12:26 am by DanielIt did take quite a while to get updated though.
Well with version 1.1, it was enabled. 1.1.1 was accepted the other day, and 1.2 should be dropping in a week or so 🙂
