Fashism Mobile review

As someone who requires a personal shopper (a.k.a. the best friend) every time I even consider purchasing clothes, an app like Fashism, LLC’s Fashism would probably be extremely useful. With it, you can receive instant feedback from all the other Fashism users on everything concerning your looks: from what outfit to choose to what hairstyle to wear, just upload a photo and a question! Of course, if you want to participate in this information gather session, you have to have a working camera on your device.

Sign up for an account, and then tap the Upload Look button in the middle of the toolbar to begin immediately. Tap the gray square to add a photo, then type in a question; there is also an option to divulge more information, such as the event you’re attending. Upload the look, sit back, and wait for feedback to come pouring in. If you’d like to be on the giving end, just tap in Latest Looks and choose someone’s entry to vote/comment on. Voting will effect the percentage rate found in the upper right corner: the more people who tap “I Like It,” the higher the rate will be. You can chime in with your two cents in the comments section.

I’m not entirely sure of the wisdom in tagging an app with a moniker so close to a political ideology, but to each his/her own. The idea behind Fashism is pretty great, especially for indecisive people like me, but finds its strength purely in numbers. If no one is using it, then the point is moot. And even when there are other users, your audience mileage may vary (it’d be interesting to see a distribution of users by age). That said, it’d be helpful to see the number of users who’ve voted…sample size is everything in this case. 20 people who’ve Liked your outfit is a lot more powerful than 1 person who Hated it. As with all social applications, once you dive in to participate, you open yourself up to all sorts of characters–some may genuinely want to help you, but some might be trolls, so take care. Fashism is a simple app that strives to help you be fashion forward, so if you’re willing to put yourself out there, you can look great tomorrow.
