VoiceActivator is an app for jailbroken iPhones that adds to the existing voice commands of the iPhone by providing a large set of additional iPhone task you can perform using your voice. Created by developer Grant Paul, aka chpwn, VoiceActivator is coming out soon and available for purchase in the Cydia app store. Using VoiceActivator you can create your own voice commands by typing in the text to be spoken and assigning actions to be performed. Check out the video demo below for a list of VoiceActivator’s features.
The base voice commands on the iPhone are extremely limited. So what do you get from VoiceActivator you ask? VoiceActivator basically is an interface to the Activator app, so you can do anything that Activator supports. These tasks are really quite powerful ranging in everything from restarting the device, spotlight searches, taking screenshots, launching apps, doing web searches, and a whole lot more. For now, if you have Cydia, you’ll be finding VoiceActivator in Cydia this week.
As a side note, this type of awesome functionality might get picked up by Apple’s native iOS soon for the masses to use. Recently Apple posted job listings for speech recognition experts, as well as having already acquired Stanford University spinoff Siri earlier this year.

Use iPhone mods and hacks at your own risk! Installing 3rd Party iPhone apps requires you to jailbreak the iPhone before installing the native software and apps. Browse the full list of all iPhone and iPod touch jailbreak apps filed under the software category.
