FEATURED APP
Minigore

I got Minigore around its first release as one of my first paid apps. To this day, I still consider it to be one of my favorite game app buys ever.

At the time Mountain Sheep had delivered Minigore’s initial release, I found it to be a very impressive execution of its unique concept. The gameplay is simple, run around shooting cute fuzzy monsters before they eat you, but that’s what really makes it a great game. When I sit down for some mindless fun, I want some mindless fun. I like that it strays from the HD-high realism FPS gaming type. But just because it doesn’t look like exactly like real life doesn’t mean the graphics are subpar because they are definitely not. The background and character graphics are extremely polished and well done. Plus, I like that Gore is a little modular dude slaying cute little (and big) modular fuzz balls. I’m indulging in my inner child and I also like that I don’t need to worry about limited ammo and stealth tactics. Let me go balls out into the chaos! Raarr!

To be honest, I used to die really quickly because I didn’t quite grasp how the controls worked, I thought blue was to run around and aim while red was to shoot. Fortunately, the controls are actually quite intuitive, and it was really quick and easy to get acquainted with the controls, (tip: you aim AND shoot with the red while blue is for moving, use together) and you become a shooting machine!

Now with the updates, all coming with pleasant regularity, Minigore is even more fun with the added ‘health,’ multiple characters/special abilities, different weapons and dual-wielding.

I seriously LOVE Minigore. Its replay value is great, the graphics and overall design is so visually stimulating, the sound bites are amusing and snarky, the music is fantastically adventure-y and I am unceasingly entertained. Minigore is currently in the App Store for $2.99 and rest assured, it’s worth every penny.
