Voices review

Do you get tired of the sound of your own voice? Voices is a simple and fun voice changer app for the iPhone or iPod touch from TapTapTap with great graphics and fun animations. Pick from 17 different voice options and start speaking into the microphone. Say anything you want and when you’re done, the Voices app will digitally morph your voice to sound like your choice. You can save the result in your recordings section and even share them with your friends on Twitter, Facebook or by email. Voices has all the elements of a good iPhone app including being easy to use, loaded with sleek graphics, fast loading, a blast to use and simple to share with friends or family.

First impressions resonated in Voices, besides the hours of fun with a bunch of funny, whacky, scary, and exciting voices is the wonderful graphics and user interface. Each voice has its own detailed icon and when you go to record your voice, a red curtains literally opens up on stage and you even hear a mini throat being cleared on the mic as the audience is noticeably sitting in the dark watching and waiting for you to perform. This adds an element of realism to the app and gives you extra motivation to record something entertaining. Another neat part is when the recordings are played back, you see an old school cassette tape being played back with your recording name written on it with a marker.

There doesn’t seem to be a time limit as to how long you can record for, at least we couldn’t find one during our tests. You can rename your recordings if you wish. It would be great if we can use the saved recordings as ringtones in the future. Note: Voices works with any iPhone but only with the latest iPod touch versions that support added on microphones. Overall the Voices app is a complete experience package with extreme attention to detail applied to everything from graphics, layout, and buttons, accompanied by funny voices created on the fly for you to enjoy.
